Member Profile

This is "The Multimedia Signal Processing and Security Lab", short WaveLab, website. We are a research group at the Computer Sciences Department of the University of Salzburg headed by Andreas Uhl. The short name "WaveLab" already indicates that wavelets are among our favorite tools - we have 15 years of experience in this area. Our research is focused on Multimedia Security including Watermarking, Image and Video Compression, Medical Image Classification, and Biometrics.

About Me:
Andreas Unterweger studied Information Technology and Systems Management at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences (Diploma degree Dipl.-Ing. (FH)) and Computer Science at the University of Salzburg (Master's degree Dipl.-Ing.). He is currently working at the department of Computer Sciences at the University of Salzburg, pursuing his Ph.D. in Computer Science focussing on selective video encryption. He is also a lecturer at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.

 
 

Research Interests:

  • Real-time video coding (especially H.264-based video coding)
  • Selective video encryption
  • Image quality perception of the Human Visual System (HVS)
  • Video compression artifact assessment
